When tragedy struck on an early morning in Manikganj, a routine bus ride to work turned into a devastating road accident for the workers of Tarasima Apparels Ltd. Amid grief and uncertainty, hope emerged through the Employment Injury Scheme (EIS) Pilot, a groundbreaking social insurance initiative supported by the Government of Bangladesh, Employers’ Associations, Workers’ Associations, ILO, and GIZ. This short documentary tells a real-life story of resilience, compassion, and collective responsibility. Through the voices of injured workers, bereaved families, and factory management, we see how timely support and coordination helped rebuild shattered lives and restore dignity. The film highlights how the EIS Pilot—originally designed to compensate work-related injuries—has now expanded to cover commuting accidents, ensuring that protection extends beyond factory gates. It’s a powerful reminder that social protection is not just policy—it’s people, care, and recovery in action.
